Pre-Orientation Module

This module walks through the foundational academic requirements for all incoming Freshman with detailed explanations about university, general education, and special subject requirements, along with links to additional modules about financial aid, student health, and more. 

  • Pre-Orientation Module - You do not have to complete this in one sitting; you can log in and out and the module should keep track of where you are based on your Single Sign-On. 

 

Exam Credit Charts

Below are links to the AP, IB, and A-Level exam credit charts to understand which general education and/or special subject areas you have already satisfied from your AP scores. Remember, DO NOT register for any courses that are listed under the "UCSB Course Equivalent" column as you already have credit for those courses at UCSB and they will not count toward any degree requirements. 

  • Credit Charts - Even though this takes you to the College of Letters & Science website, it applies to all students at UCSB. 

 

California Community College Credit

If you are entering UCSB with credit from a California Community College, you can use Assist.org to determine how that credit transfers to UCSB. Watch the video below for an in-depth tutorial:

Math Placement Information

For information on Math Placement, please review all Math Placement Information and receive guidance from your Orientation Intern before utilizing the links below. Form submissions or placement exam must be completed on Day 1 of Orientation to be cleared for Day 2 registration. You only need to complete one option below, unless instructed otherwise.

  • Math Course Placement Form - For students who have AP, IB, or A-Level math scores or have transfer math credit and are recommended by their Orientation Intern to take a math course during their first quarter.
  • Math Placement Exam - For students who do not have AP, IB, or A-Level math scores or transfer math credit and are recommended by their Orientation Intern to take a math course during their first quarter.
