Reserve Your Space in an Orientation Session

Reservations Information

Please read the information on this website about Parent Orientation (and Freshman or Transfer Orientation) before the student submits their reservation. Be sure to see the policies outlined below regarding program fees. The student's Statement of Intent to Register (SIR) must be received by the UCSB Admissions Office before they can access the online Orientation reservation system.

Students can sign up for an Orientation session using the online reservation system which is available on the Reserve Your Space page on the Freshman and Transfer sections of this website. Parents must be included on the student’s online reservation form if they plan to attend. Submit the reservation promptly! Space in each Orientation session is limited and session dates will close when they are full.

Students must complete the process using the online reservation system to be confirmed for an Orientation session. Follow the directions to submit a reservation and confirm a session date.

Program Fees

Program fees for all participants will be billed in the fall on the student's UCSB BARC Billing Statement. Students are required to pay in full the amount of the fees for all participants, including parents and guests, who have registered for UCSB Orientation on their reservation. Fee payment deadlines will be noted on the statement. Fees are assessed per person.

Changes and Cancellations

Any change to your reservation is subject to availability and it is preferred that changes be made well in advance of your session date. You can make changes to your reservation through the online system up to 10 days in advance of your session. Within 10 days, please call Orientation Reservations at 805-893-2197 for assistance. You must call us directly if you need to cancel your entire reservation, as this cannot be done online.

Special Arrangements

Orientation Programs welcomes requests for special arrangements due to a disability or other special need. Please call us at least three weeks in advance so that we can make arrangements.

For parents of freshmen who want to attend Orientation but are not fluent in English, our entire program cannot be translated. However, during the two-day program, there will be some information presented in spanish. See Spanish Program information for details.
