Online Orientation Course

What is the Online Course?

The online orientation course length is approximately one and a half hours. In order to receive the earlier registration pass time, students need to spend at least 45 minutes completing the online program.

You do not need to complete the online orientation course all at once; if you exit and log back in to the course at a later time, the online program will make note of where you left off.

The transfer online orientation course is NOT a replacement for attending an in-person Transfer Orientation session. Instead, it provides an important foundation for students to build upon and refer back to during their campus orientation experience.

See Orientation fees for detailed information on the fees that you will be charged for Transfer Orientation and the application for a fee reduction.

Fall Course Registration

Completion of the online course will enable you to register early for your fall classes; your registration appointment time on GOLD will be moved up to a date in mid-August. The deadline to complete the online orientation course and receive an earlier registration pass time is Friday, August 3. No exceptions will be made to this deadline.

Please note that continuing students register for their classes before incoming students, so your first choice of courses may not always be available. All students will be able to register for a full load of courses appropriate for their first quarter at UCSB.
