Orientation Fees

Transfer Orientation Fees

The cost for transfer orientation is $70. This fee covers both parts of the transfer student orientation process: the transfer online orientation course and the in-person Transfer Orientation. There is not a separate fee for only completing one part of the orientation process.

There is a program fee of $20 per person for parents, family members, and guests who attend the in-person Transfer Parent/Family Orientation.

Orientation fees for all participants will be billed in the fall on the student's UCSB BARC Billing Statement. Fee payment deadlines will be noted on the statement.

If you choose not to participate in both the online orientation course and the in-person Transfer Orientation, you will not be billed for transfer orientation.

Fee Reductions

A limited number of fee reductions are available to eligible students from families with an annual income of $35,000 or less. These are awarded based on need and in the order we receive applications until funds are depleted. To apply, print and mail the Application for a Fee Reduction which can be accessed below. If approved, the $25 fee reduction will be deducted from the total orientation fee and the remainder will be billed in the fall. Fee reductions are for students only. Program fees for parents and other participants who attend the in-person orientation must be paid in full when you are billed in the fall.

Please note: Your fee reduction application will not be processed if you do not complete the UCSB transfer online orientation course.

Applications must be received no later than July 15.
