Jermaine Smith is a 4th year graduating senior in the History of Public Policy and Law major with a minor in Latin American and Iberian Studies. He comes from Victorville, CA, and his hobbies include but are not limited to, playing acoustic and electric guitar, reading up on world news, and playing with his very cute french bulldog. After transferring from Victor Valley College, Jermaine has enjoyed taking advantage of the research opportunities here at UCSB, like becoming a research assistant, doing Proxy Research at the Special Collections, and even spearheading his own Senior Thesis project. Even with only 2 years here as a transfer student, Jermaine is excited to share his rich experiences with everyone at Orientation and show that UCSB has something to offer everyone, especially the beautiful scenery.
