Reservation Information

Prior to reserving your Orientation session, please review all Program Information including the session dates, overnight options, and fees and billing process.

To Access the Orientation Reservation System:

  • Your Statement of Intent to Register (SIR) must be received by UCSB Admissions 
  • Your UCSB NetID and password must be activated (can take up to 24 hours to fully activate)
  • You must have your UCSB account enabled with DUO multi-factor authentication

Submit your reservation promptly! Space in each Orientation session is limited and session dates will close when they are full. We do not have the capability to offer a waitlist for specific session dates. Each Orientation session provides the same in-depth academic advising and fair access to classes. You must complete the process using the online reservation system to be confirmed for an Orientation session.

To complete your reservation you will need

  • Your UCSB NetID and password with DUO multi-factor authentication enabled to log into the Orientation reservation website
    • UCSB NetIDs can take up to 24 hours to fully activate. Please plan ahead.
  • Your preferred session date
    • We recommend having an alternative date in mind if that session is no longer available. Waitlists are not available.
  • Your overnight selection
    • You may select the overnight option and stay in Manzanita Village or can reserve their own accommodations. All parents & guests will need to make their own accommodations.
  • The names and emails of parent(s)/guest(s) who plan to attend Parent Orientation
    • If you're not sure if you will have guests attending, you can reserve your space in a session and sign back in to add guests later.

Program Fee Reminders

  • No payment is due when you make a reservation for Orientation.
  • You will be billed in the Fall on your UCSB BARC Billing Statement.
  • See fees and billing for information on fees, payment, and financial assistance.

Changes and Cancellations

  • Need to switch dates or add guests?
    • You can make changes yourself through the reservation system up to 7 days before your session starts.
  • Less than 7 days away or need to cancel your entire reservation?
    • Please email us at orientation@sa.ucsb.edu with your change/cancellation request.

Special Arrangements

Orientation Programs welcomes requests for special accommodations. For example, we have program accommodations for participants with mobility issues and gluten allergies. Please contact us via email at orientation@sa.ucsb.edu or call 805-893-3443 during business hours (8:00 AM - 5:00 PM M-F) to discuss your specific situation. 

Orientation Reservations for Summer 2026 will open in May 2026.
