General Academic Information

As incoming transfer students, be sure to submit your official transcripts to UCSB Office of Admissions by July 1.

You are also required to submit a final high school transcript unless you are submitting an official full IGETC certification from a community college. Your official high school transcript or a full IGETC certification is due to the Office of Admissions by July 15.

Certain major academic departments at UCSB would like you to complete forms, submit transcripts or schedule appointments prior to Transfer Orientation. They will reach out to you with specific instructions via your UCSB email. Departments also provide a special welcome message with department-specific information in the Transfer Orientation Online Module

Course Registration

Course registration for Fall quarter will not happen at Transfer Orientation. You will register through GOLD (UCSB's registration system) during your assigned pass time. Registration will begin on August 25. You can view your pass time in GOLD by clicking on the Registration tab.

Incoming transfer students who complete the Transfer Orientation Online Module before the deadline will receive a priority registration pass time beginning on Wednesday, August 20

By attending the in-person Transfer Orientation Program, you will receive direct advising from your major academic department and college advisors prior to registering for Fall courses. You also have the opportunity to attend workshops on how to use GOLD and feel confident navigating the system when you register for classes.
